The latest addition to Alcon's Air Optix contact lens range, Air Optix Plus HydraGlyde is a monthly disposable contact lens.
Alcon's wetting technology, the HydraGlyde® Wetting Matrix, is also used in the manufacturer's premium-quality care solutions, such as OPTI-FREE PureMoist and AoSept Plus with HydraGlyde.
HydraGlyde technology has been specifically developed to meet the needs of silicone hydrogel-based lenses: its agents are embedded in the lens surface to block hydrophobic areas and attract and retain moisture, ensuring long-lasting comfort when wearing contact lenses.
The Air Optix Plus HydraGlide is the first and only contact lens to use Hydraglyde Hydrating Matrix technology, a technology that keeps the contact lens surface hydrated throughout the day.
Air Optix Plus HydraGlyde lenses provide five times higher oxygen transmission than traditional Dk/t hydrogel lenses. The unique SmartShield technology provides protection against contaminants, protecting the contact lens from dirt such as cosmetics or hand cream residues that stick inseparably to the contact lens.
