What is HYLO-FORTE®?
HYLO-FORTE® is a sterile, phosphate- and preservative-free solution for ophthalmic use.
Composition:
1 ml HYLO-FORTE® contains 2 mg sodium hyaluronate, lemon and anhydrous, sodium citrate, sorbitol and water for injection.
What is HYLO-FORTE® used for?
HYLO-FORTE® Eye Drops for intensive and therapeutic lubrication of the ocular surface in cases of more severe and persistent dry eye sensation, including post-operative treatment.
When should HYLO-FORTE® be used?
HYLO-FORTE® contains the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in many organs of the human body, including the eye. Its special property is that it forms a regular, stable, long-lasting, lubricating and moisturising film on the surface of the eye, which is not easily washed off. These bioadhesive properties ensure protection of the cornea and conjunctivae, and together with the physiological tears, the eye covering slides over the surface of the eye. HYLO-FORTE® contains a higher concentration of sodium hyaluronate, which makes it more viscous, leaving the eye with an intense, soothing and long-lasting moisturising film. Permanent or more severe symptoms are relieved and the eye is protected from further irritation. Continuous hydration of the eye surface is necessary for tissue regeneration. The application of HYLO-FORTE® provides additional hydration and lubrication to the cornea and conjunctiva to ensure optimal physiological wound healing.

HYLO-FORTE® preservative-free is usually very well tolerated. In addition, HYLO-FORTE® is free of phosphates, thus avoiding possible complications due to the formation of insoluble deposits in the cornea.
How to use HYLO-FORTE®?
Please do not use HYLO-FORTE® if any part of the protective seal on the folding box is broken or damaged before first use.
The foundation of the system:
To refill the system, remove the lid and turn the HYLO-FORTE® bottle upside down with the tip pointing down.
Place two fingers on the base and your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle, press the base and release. Repeat this several times until the first drop is released. The bottle is filled.
General use:
Remove the lid and turn the HYLO-FORTE® bottle upside down.
Hold the bottle with the other hand.
Hold the bottle: place two fingers on the base and your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle. Tilt your head back slightly, pulling your lower eyelids down. Press the base of the bottle. This allows the bottle to release a drop into the conjunctive pouch. Release and repeat for the other eye.
After each application, slowly close the eye to allow the liquid to spread evenly over the surface of the eye.
The COMOD® valve system design ensures that the size and velocity of each drop is the same regardless of the pressure applied to the base of the bottle.
While in use, avoid contact between the tip of the bottle and your eyes or skin.
Check that the tip is dry before replacing the cap.
The HYLO-FORTE® releases approximately 300 drops of solution (10 ml). A small amount will always remain in the bottle at the end of its lifetime. This is normal.
HYLO-FORTE® can be used up to 6 months after opening. The bottle should be discarded after 6 months of use. Do not allow others to use the HYLO-FORTE®.
Other information
If you are also using other eye drop medication, please allow at least 30 minutes after application before applying HYLO-FORTE®. However, eye ointments should be applied after using HYLO-FORTE®.
As HYLO-FORTE® is phosphate and preservative free, it is well tolerated even when used for prolonged periods of time.
Hypersensitive reactions are rare, but if burning or excessive pain occurs, please discontinue HYLO-FORTE®.
Please note that temporary blurred vision may occur after application of HYLO-FORTE® due to the viscosity of the eye drop solution.
HYLO-FORTE® relieves the symptoms of more severe or persistent dry eye. HYLO-FORTE® should be used in conjunction with contact lens wear and in consultation with your doctor.
HYLO-FORTE® is suitable for use with hard, soft contact lenses. However, some smears on the contact lenses may become smudged after a few blinks.
If your symptoms do not disappear, please consult your doctor immediately.
If you are a contact lens wearer and experience such a reaction, please check to see if there has been a change in the contact lens solution as this may be the cause of the reaction.
There are no restrictions on the use of HYLO-FORTE® in children or in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
How often and for how long can HYLO-FORTE® be used?
HYLO-FORTE® should be used as directed by your doctor or eye care professional. In general, one drop of HYLO-FORTE® should be injected into the eye three times a day. It can be used more often if necessary.
HYLO-FORTE® is suitable for long-term treatment.
What should you know about storing HYLO-FORTE®?
Store at a maximum of 25°C
HYLO-FORTE® should be destroyed 6 months after opening. To help you remember the container label, there is a place to record the date of first use of the product.
Do not use beyond the expiry date.
Keep out of the reach of children.
